How to Upload a Face Swap Card

This guide shows you how to set up and submit a face swap card correctly, from preparing your main artwork to uploading the face reference image and completing the final card details.

Main artwork

Upload your finished card design as a JPG or PNG at 300 DPI.

Face reference

Add a small square image to show which face should be replaced.

Check the bleed

Keep important design details away from the red bleed area before submitting.

Step-by-step guide

1

Prepare your main artwork

You will need two pieces of artwork before you start. The first is your main card design. This should be uploaded in the same way as a standard card, as either a JPG or PNG.

  • If exporting as JPG, design in CMYK and export in RGB at 300 DPI.
  • If exporting as PNG, make sure the file is also exported at 300 DPI.
  • Make sure your design is fully finished and ready to print before uploading.

Create the face reference image

The second file is a small square image showing the face you want the customer to replace. This acts as a visual guide so customers can clearly see which face will be swapped.

  • This image does not need to be high resolution.
  • Use a clear crop of the face you want to be replaced.
  • Keep the image square so it displays neatly on the upload page.

Select the face swap card option

Once both files are ready, go to your dashboard and choose the Face Swap Card option to begin the upload process.

4

Upload the main artwork and check the bleed

After uploading your main artwork, check that no important parts of the design sit inside or too close to the red area. This is the bleed area and it will be trimmed off during production.

  • Only background colours or background images should extend into the red area.
  • Keep text, faces, and important details safely inside the main design area.
  • When you are happy, click Next to continue.

5

Upload the face photo

On the next screen, upload the face reference image. You can choose to upload one face or two faces, depending on the design.

  • Make sure the correct face is shown for each swap area.
  • Use clear, recognisable face crops so customers understand the design.
  • Once everything looks right, click Next.

Complete the card details and submit

After that, fill in the card details in the same way you would for a standard card. Once submitted, our team will review the design before it goes live.

  • You can test the design later from your profile page.
  • If anything needs changing, it is best to fix it before submission.
  • A clear setup helps speed up the approval process.
